Dirt Day...

6-19-07 Since this video has been on here for awhile, I muted the sound - if it's your first time watching, please click on the sound button to hear the GREAT and most fitting song while viewing the pics.
So, on the anniversary of Dad's homegoing Aaron had an ingenius idea...it doesn't happen often so we all listened closely. ha ha

Instead of sitting in the house looking at pics and crying about how much we miss Dad...because our hearts really do ache so so much still...it would have been easy to sit in the house. Aaron suggested a "Dirt Day". Dad loved "Dirt Days" for his birthday/Father's day...whatever occasion he could find. He's get a load of dirt, ask for no gifts except a day at their house. We'd work spreading the dirt here and there from bad spots that show up after winter and to get a jump start on their landscaping for the summer. We'd end the day with a BBQ.

Well, we did just that. Aaron had a load of dirt brought in early morning. As an immediate family we had breakfast together, something we did every morning for the week following Dad's passing - it was always a special time. Then...more family and dear friends showed up. We were working hard by 10:30ish...it was cold!!! But, we had a ball and didn't stop until 7ish that night. Rachel & Jeannie had coordinated dinner and we had steaks and lots of stuff to go with! It was such a great time. We talked often of Dad; enjoyed each others company and love; and helped Mom get a bunch of work done. She had a porch added to the front of the house this past year since she was worried about Dad not being there to shovel her out first thing in the mornings. So...this was the best solution. And, we love the porch!!!

It took out all of her BEAUTIFUL flowers, so she had to start from scratch. This day was perfect to help her get going and it's already gorgeous. I'll have to snap a picture of it when we're over there sometime...she has such a gift for this.

Happy Mother's Day...

For Mother's Day this year Mom wanted a campfire...so we did just that! The guys had gone golfing for the day (see my brothers blogs for more info on that) and when they got home Sep stoked up the fire and the family came over...we had a nice time.
The fire wouldn't take off really big and we figure it was from the woods around the fire pit! It was hilarious...the weed eater broke so we couldn't trim around it for a few weeks. For all who are concerned, it's fixed now! Enjoy the pics!
We love Mom!!!
Jayna & Taylor sitting on Grandma's lap...both scared of the lizard that just jumped out of one of the logs on the fire. Grandma is attempting to console them...
Aaron is attempting to play it cool after burning ANOTHER hobo pie!!! Please take note of Jen cleaning up for him...once again. ha ha
Still attempting to console the girls...
Proof of the hobo pie burning incident - was this burn #2 or #3, Aaron??
Taylor mustering up enough courage to get off of Grandma's lap...
Nice fire...lotsa weeds...hilarious!
Carly taking in all the smoke! Actually she's not - she was just across the fire from me.
Taylor has successfully made it off of Grandma's lap, but Jayna still isn't quite there...
Tucker Dale enjoying a drink around the fire...did I mention it was FREEZING that night...it wasn't too late of a party!
( L to R) Aaron, Justin, Autumn, Jayna, Mom, Taylor, Jen & SepJustin playing goofy with Audi...
(Autumn...I LOVE the nickname Aaron & Jayna gave her!)

Audi looking for another bunny...they are HUGE and everywhere at our place.
The good news is they don't eat my any flowers!

How Big is Tucker?

One of Tucker's "tricks"....

Cuddle Time...

Cuddle time is rare these days for our boy on the move! It's well taken when he gives it! Here's Daddy & Tucker cuddling after his night bottle in the recliner.

MaMaw & Papaw Visit...

A few pics from our visit with MaMaw & PaPaw (Sep's Dad & StepMom) a few weeks back. It's always nice to have Tucker's Grandparents in our home!

Camera Attack...

Rainbows...

We love rainbows around here...they have a bit of a special meaning to our family. The other night when I was giving Tucker a bath Sep stepped outside and took a few pictures of a very pretty rainbow.

A day at home...

Last month Tucker wasn't feeling 100% so he and Mommy spent the day at home together. A couple pics of the day. We had fun together, for sure! Tucker can't resist a pillow - if he sees one lying on the floor mid-crawl he has to stop and bury his head in it. It's hilarious! He's so happy...really he is so so happy so much of the time. His smile is so contagious!

Food...

Tucker has been trying lots of new foods these days...he likes pickles....He likes milk too and does real well with it...although this isn't a milk mustache...it was a medicine mustache; but we couldn't resist the picture!
